정부 "추석 택배량 전년대비 30％↑ 예상…방역수칙 집중점검"

(서울=연합뉴스) 김철선 기자 = 방역 당국은 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 유행으로 올해 추석 명절기간 택배량이 지난해보다 많이 증가할 것으로 보고 택배·유통시설 방역수칙 준수 여부를 집중적으로 점검 중이라고 10일 밝혔다.

윤태호 중앙사고수습본부(중수본) 방역총괄반장은 이날 정례 브리핑에서 "코로나19와 추석 명절 특수 등으로 택배 물동량이 지난해보다 약 30％ 이상 높아질 것으로 예상한다"고 말했다.

코로나19가 확산하는 상황으로 인해 택배를 이용한 비대면 소비가 급증하면서 추석 명절 택배 물동량도 함께 증가할 것이라 전망이다.

방역당국은 이달 7일부터 25일까지 3주간 유통·물류 시설, 택배 터미널에 대한 집중점검을 추진한다.

배송물량이 증가하면서 작업 인원과 시간이 늘어나고, 작업자의 밀접접촉 및 감염 위험도가 높아지는 점을 고려해 현장 점검을 강화한다는 것이다.

윤 반장은 "택배·유통·물류회사와 간담회 등을 개최해 민관 합동으로 철저한 방역 조치가 이뤄질 수 있게 최선을 다하겠다"고 설명했다.

한편 국토교통부는 올해 5월부터 지방자치단체 등과 함께 접촉, 밀집도가 높은 택배 터미널 589곳, 유통물류시설 35곳 등 624개소를 점검했다고 밝혔다.

방역 미흡 사항에 대한 시설별 평균 지적 건수는 점검 초기인 5월 6.75건에서 6월 0.84건, 7월 이후 0.21건으로 지속해서 감소했다고 당국은 설명했다.
