(서울=연합뉴스) 김대호 기자 = 미국 폭력단원이 살인 등의 혐의로 2번의 종신형에 더해 835년형을 선고받았다.

10일 영국 데일리 메일에 따르면 미국 아칸소 출신의 드마르쿠스 파커(27)는 2년 전 다른 폭력조직과 총격전을 벌이다 실수로 인근 아파트에서 자녀들과 휴식을 취하던 올리버 존슨 경관을 맞춰 숨지게 하는 등 21가지 혐의로 전날 아칸소법원에서 이런 판결을 선고받았다.

랜디 필아우어 판사는 또 형 집행이 연속해서 이뤄져야 한다고 명시했다.

스콧 엘링턴 검사는 판결 후 "슬프지만, 그 무엇도 숨진 존슨 경관을 가족들에게 다시 데려다줄 수 없다. 그러나 그의 가족들은 정의가 살아있음에 위안을 받을 것"이라고 말했다.

검찰에 따르면 파커는 2년 전 4월 28일 오후 3시 30분께 아칸소 거리에서 차를 타고 다른 폭력단원들을 향해 총을 쏘던 중 빗나간 총탄이 당시 아파트에서 딸과 비디오게임을 하던 존슨을 맞췄다는 것이다.

존슨은 총에 맞은 후 바로 이웃에 사는 친척들에 의해 심폐소생술을 받았으나 숨졌다. 당시 존슨과 같은 아파트에 살던 사람들은 40여발의 총성이 울렸다고 증언했다.

파커는 범행 후 경찰의 추격으로 2주가량 뒤 붙잡혔다.
